Steamboat Symphony Orchestra

2012 - August 16th - 19th

Williams: Suite from Star Wars

Sibelius: Symphony No. 2

Pretty brutal program. Check out the symphony's website for more information.

Northwest Brass Recording

2012 - August 3rd - 6th

My brass quartet is getting together for its first set of recordings with help from Kevin Woelfel. We will be recording all the instrumentations of the modular arrangements I have finished. This includes music from The Legend of Zelda, Radiohead's Paranoid Android, and a Bach Contrapunctus. If we have time we may also throw down some of Steven Verhelst's Song for Japan and my new arrangement of Michael Jackson's Human Nature. Keep an eye out for the videos on the Northwest Brass's website and YouTube channel.

Annual Arboretum Concert

2012 - July 7th

Telemann - Sonata No. 1 from Six Canonic Suites

Kondo, arr. Butterfield - Medley from The Legend of Zelda

I'll try to keep this chronological, but I felt I should put this one in. Dan Bukvich puts together a great little concert every year in the University of Idaho arboretum. Vern Sielert and I opened with a Telemann round, and Chris Dickey and I got to try out one of my new modular arrangements. If you want to find out more about my upcoming arrangements, check out my quartet's website: www.northwestbrass.com

Royal Fireworks

2012 - July 28th and 29th

Handel - Music for the Royal Fireworks

Should be a fun gig. I'm not a huge fan of playing outdoors, but such is summer gigging.

Rendezvous in the Park

2012 - July 20th - 24th

Mozart - Don Giovanni Overture

Mozart - "Queen of the Night" Aria from The Magic Flute

Telemann - Trumpet Concerto in D Major (Rehearsals only)

Prokofiev - Peter and the Wolf (Rehearsals only)

Well, this is an odd one to start with, but I guess it pays to stay on your toes. I had been scheduled to play second trumpet on some simple Mozart, but I received a call the day before rehearsals began to ask if I could fill in for the soloist for the rehearsals. A little stressful considering that I hadn't touched my pic in a couple of months, but I think it went well considering the circumstances. Always fun to play great music with good people.
